Play Activities

When children are given choice and control over their play, they experience happiness, joy and excitement. True play also promotes a child’s development, learning and independence. The following are just some of the varied play activities your child can enjoy at the The Play Station:

• Sports • Music
• Art and Crafts • Dance
• Loose Parts* • Drama
• Cooking • Dressing up
• Board Games • Home Corner Activities
• Construction Toys • Trips
• Parachute Play • Outings
• Sand Play • Special Events and much much  more!
• Water Play

'Loose Parts’ is a type of play that captures the imagination of the children who attend the club and is presently proving to be one of the most popular play activities available.

Inspection

In June 2018 we had an inspection from the Food Standards Agency who check how well we are doing in meeting the law in food hygiene.

We are proud to have received a Level 5 Food Hygeine Rating, which is the highest rating!!

We are extremely happy with this result and give credit to the hard work of our staff.

Ofsted Visit

We are delighted to say we were awarded 'Good' during our last Ofsted inspection.

The inspector made very positive observations concerning the staff team. She recognised they are 'well qualified and experienced staff... passionate about their roles... caring and friendly... committed to providing children with a wide range of interesting and stimulating activities from which to choose.' She also stated that managers and staff have 'high expectations and successfully promote a culture of self reflective practice and teamwork that benefits the families who attend.'

The inspector observed the careful planning carried out by the staff team and the procedures in place to ensure children 'receive individualised care' and support to 'learn skills for the future'. She witnessed the children arrive at the club with 'excitement and enthusiasm' and commented on their confidence and 'sense of belonging at the club.'

We are thrilled to announce that we have received a Gold Award Certificate in the 'First Claim' Quality Assurance Framework/Kitemark. This is an assessment of provider practice; comprising of an understanding of the playwork principles and range of play types, followed by modelling best practice and staff observations within the setting.

This is fantastic news not only for us but for you and your children too!

The Play Station is a fully inclusive play scheme. We welcome children from a variety of schools, from all nationalities, backgrounds and abilities. To that end we have currently been working towards Bradford's 'Inclusive Quality Standard' in an aim to ensure an ongoing high standard of care for all children attending The Play Station. This is now complete and we are extremely pleased with our Gold Standard award.
