About The Play

At The Play Station we believe that a child has the right to play. For that reason The Play Station is a club ‘Where Play Comes First’. Play is freely chosen by the children for the children.

The right to play is a child’s first claim on the community. Play is nature’s training for life” – David Lloyd George

Play is the fundamental way that children enjoy their childhood. It is essential to their quality of life as children” – Play England

The Play Station recognises and respects the uniqueness of each child. The club’s primary mission is to allow children the opportunity to relax and play, free from adult direction or expectation. By providing an extensive range of play experiences, children learn to follow their curiosity; explore the world through their imagination; to think creatively and to play both independently and cooperatively with others. At The Play Station we celebrate diversity and strive to instil integrity, compassion and confidence in each child. Through play we give each individual the support and encouragement required to become his or her own unique self.

Play Activities

When children are given choice and control over their play, they experience happiness, joy and excitement. True play also promotes a child’s development, learning and independence. Skilled Playworkers at The Play Station therefore, put a child’s needs at the centre of their work and offer a vast array of quality play experiences for children with differing needs and interests.
